Eating Disorders and Body Image

Having a body is complex. Pursuing harmony with one's body in a world that often makes this work feel painful, overwhelming, or even treacherous is an act of true bravery. I am deeply honored to be part of this journey for people in all kinds of bodies. This work is both deeply personal and profoundly political, and it’s a purpose about which I am incredibly passionate. My perspective is informed by fat positivity, body neutrality, and the scientifically-backed belief that while helath is not a moral issue, health can exist in bodies of any size. Some of my work in this area includes:

  • Anorexia, bulimia, ARFID, and not otherwise specified eating disorders

  • Disordered relationships with food that haven’t been formally diagnosed

  • Diagnosing and directing eating disorder treatment in collaboration with dieticians, psychiatrists, and doctors

  • Working with those in remission from eating disorders

  • Working with parents and other family members of those diagnosed with eating disorders

  • Body acceptance, neutrality, or positivity for people in all body sizes

  • Couples work in which one or more people have experienced or are experiencing disordered eating

  • Referrals to higher levels of care

  • Body image and eating disorder care for queer and trans folks

  • Art therapy in conjunction with body image work
