Eating Disorders and Body Image
Having a body is complex. Pursuing harmony with one's body in a world that often makes this work feel painful, overwhelming, or even treacherous is an act of true bravery. I am deeply honored to be part of this journey for people in all kinds of bodies. This work is both deeply personal and profoundly political, and it’s a purpose about which I am incredibly passionate. My perspective is informed by fat positivity, body neutrality, and the scientifically-backed belief that while helath is not a moral issue, health can exist in bodies of any size. Some of my work in this area includes:
Anorexia, bulimia, ARFID, and not otherwise specified eating disorders
Disordered relationships with food that haven’t been formally diagnosed
Diagnosing and directing eating disorder treatment in collaboration with dieticians, psychiatrists, and doctors
Working with those in remission from eating disorders
Working with parents and other family members of those diagnosed with eating disorders
Body acceptance, neutrality, or positivity for people in all body sizes
Couples work in which one or more people have experienced or are experiencing disordered eating
Referrals to higher levels of care
Body image and eating disorder care for queer and trans folks
Art therapy in conjunction with body image work
